How can I project a texture on a geometry?

Hi,

Thanks for the question.

There are 2 ways to do projection mapping:

UV mapped objects
You can import an obj with a UV map, place it in the Visualizer and in its properties on the right select one of texture variables you have created in layer layouts as the source of its texture. This means you can, for example, import a video file that has been created with the UV map in mind and feed it into a texture variable, which is then mapped to the 3D object. This is explained in more detail in UV mapped objects quick start guide.

Use video screens
If your projection surface is straight you could use a video screen and select it as the source of your projector. This is better explained in Output to a projector user doc.

Please note, projection mapping is scheduled for a significant overhaul this summer, so we haven’t invested any time to do any video tutorials yet.

Any other questions, just ask.

Hi Mitja!
Thanks, i will try both ways.

ok,

second way does not fit.
it makes no sense without camera sharing, will try first in UE.

Ah yes, you want to render with a moving camera in 3D space.
That must, indeed, be done in UE.
