Unreal Engine Integration and IoT

I have a few question about Lightact:

  1. I wanted to create a companion app device to control unreal engine, as for the presentation purpose. Does Lightact have to be turned on all the time in the server side in order to communicate between 2 devices?
  2. is this able to do IoT things?

  1. Yes, Lightact has to be running in order for any of its functionalities to work. But maybe I misunderstood your question?

  2. I am assuming that by IoT you mean Internet-of-Things? If that is so, then, of course, you can connect to various devices using TCP/UDP or OSC messages.
